National School Lunch Program

Trinity High School
Free and Reduced Lunch Program
2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR

August 4, 2022

Dear Trinity Families:

During the last school year, children and families benefited from no-cost school meals for all students, made possible by special permission from the United States Department of Agriculture. Unfortunately, these permissions have expired.  Trinity High School and the Ohio Department of Education cannot extend the permissions for no-cost meals for all students.

School meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students.  Households may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits.  An online application is available through our new partnership with Harris School Solutions at EZMealApp.com.  Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Ohio Works First (OWF).  For additional information concerning the National School Lunch Program, please see the U.S. Department of Agriculture school lunch question and answer webpage.

Children need healthy meals to learn.  Trinity High School offers healthy meals every school day.  Breakfasts will cost $2.00 and lunch $4.00.  If your child qualifies for free or reduced-price meals, the Reduced price is $.30 for breakfast; $.40 for lunch.

Please download and read the document below for some frequently asked questions about Free and Reduced-price meals.  The document also contains the Federal Eligibility Income Chart for the upcoming school year, so you may see if you might qualify based on your household size and income.

Free/Reduced Lunch Information with Income Eligibility Chart

With school lunches beginning on Friday, August 19, it is imperative you begin your application TODAY so your child’s lunch status is recorded in our NEW cafeteria system.  It could take up to 10 days for our cafeteria staff to process your application and send you notification if you have qualified for Free or Reduced lunch.

If you do not apply, your child will not receive the benefit of free or reduced meals.  In this instance, your child would be designated as a full-pay student for both breakfast and lunch until your application has been reviewed and approved.

Students with Free/Reduced status will not be identified in the cafeteria line.  Beginning this school year, Trinity will use a cashless cafeteria line.  Parents will load money on to a cafeteria account for their child and the student will scan their school ID or key in their 8-digit Student ID# in the cafeteria line to pay for their breakfast, lunch, or a la carte food items.  Students will be given a temporary Cafeteria ID with barcode on the first day of school to use until their school IDs are distributed in September.

Please visit EZSchoolPay here to create your cafeteria account and add money so your child may pay for their breakfast
or lunch using our cashless system.
