The Ohio Graduation Test assumes that you have mastered the ability to apply mathematical concepts to solve complex problems. Make sure that you solve the problem and explain your answer when prompted to do so. Use your calculator! |

Backsolve
Since the correct answer is one of the four possibilities offered to you in multiple-choice questions, many times you can backsolve. Start with one of the answers. Plug it into the equation to see if it works out correctly. If it does, you've chosen the right response. If it doesn't work, pick another answer choice and try again.

Mark and Move On
If you are unsure of how to approach a question, mark the question in your test book, skip the space on your answer sheet, and move on to the next question. Come back to the problems that require more effort to solve after you have answered all of the easier ones. Do not spend too much time on one question.
