Lauren contacted the Head Women's Volleyball Coach, Doug Walters, during a college visit to Cedarville. She brought a video of herself playing volleyball and two days later, Coach Walters invited her to attend a tryout. As soon as he saw Lauren in action, Walters knew she was the kind of player he'd like to welcome to Cedarville. "We loved her athleticism, her enthusiasm and her love for the Lord," he said.

The coaches and staff of Cedarville's volleyball team sign student-athletes all over the country. Only four players from Ohio are currently on the team. They are part of the American Mid-east Conference, but will soon join the NCAA.

Lauren feels at home at Cedarville and loves the overall atmosphere of the school. "When I spoke to students and professors I could tell that the faculty encourages spiritual growth and academic success for their students," she said. "I met the volleyball team and even stayed overnight with one of the team members. They made me feel like a part of the team as soon as I got there. I was also impressed with Cedarville's Pharmacy program." Lauren has already been accepted into the University's Pharmacy program.

Lauren's parents, Emanuel and Sheryl, also knew that Cedarville University would be the perfect place for Lauren. "The college felt like a family when we visited," Mrs. Williams said. "They have a lot of the values that we have instilled in Lauren over the years. We also love the beautiful campus."

Lauren has been playing volleyball since fourth grade. She played on Trinity's volleyball team for three years and has also played for her club team, Cleveland Volleyball Company, for four years. Her main jobs as a defensive specialist are to serve and receive the ball, play in the back row and pass the ball.
