Four current students in one family
It was a special moment when senior Breana Jacobs presented Trinity pins to her sister and brother, incoming freshmen Kevin and Katherine (yes, they are twins), at Trinity's Freshman Induction ceremony last fall. Since sophomore sister Meaghan was already a Trinity student, the Jacobs family became the first family in recent memory to have four students in the school at once.

Once parents Kevin and Margaret Mullen Jacobs (herself a Trinity alumni, class of '81) made the choice to send Breana to Trinity, they knew they had made the right decision. "To us, Trinity means family," Kevin and Margaret explain. "From Open House to Out of the Blue and especially Masses and retreats, Trinity resonates with the feeling of family values. We have had the fortunate opportunity to observe our children mature at Trinity in their faith and studies."

Kevin and Katherine knew Trinity well, even before they became freshmen this year since they had attended athletic events, Masses, and the Eighth Grade Retreat. "I knew this was the place for me after seeing how much Meaghan and Breana enjoy their school," Kevin said. Katherine is also glad she is now attending the same school as her two older sisters. "I missed them when they graduated from St. Barnabas School," she said. "Now that we're all together we can see them during the day and get advice and support."

The twins will also follow in the footsteps of their sister Meaghan who is enjoying her Pre-Professional Internship. "I work in the diabetes center at Marymount Hospital," Meaghan explains. "It's a great match for me since I hope to go into the dietary field." Meaghan now looks back at the ninth grade curriculum and realizes how the coursework has prepared her for the internship program.

Breana, the senior sibling who started the Trinity tradition with her siblings, is glad to be together with her family at school. "It's nice to be together again like we were at St. Barnabas," she said. "I'm especially glad to have all my siblings here with me during my senior year since next year I'll be going away to college."

The Jacobs have even worked out a plan for listening to music on the way to school. "Meaghan chooses the station on the radio, Katherine listens to her iPod, Breana concentrates on driving and I talk to whoever is available," Kevin explains.

Margaret and Kevin have some advice for parents choosing a high school for their children. "As parents, you worry when saying good bye in the morning," Margaret said. "While we still worry when our kids leave our care, we know that our children are in good hands at Trinity."

Kevin adds, "We would challenge any parent who is 'on the fence' about a high school to attend a Mass, come to a retreat or preview a class. If you are looking for a faith-based educational opportunity, look no further than Trinity. We have been blessed to be able to have our four children attend Trinity at the same time!"
